St Helens Saints 73 – 63 U16 White
Saturday saw the first game of the league for the U16 Whites with a visit to Carmel college to play St Helens.
Saints took an early lead with Phienix unable to convert their early shots. This created what later was known as an unassailable advantage from the first quarter going down by greater than 10 at the first break.
Our boys fought back to win two of the remaining quarters with particular punishment coming from the free throw line to draw the gap closer. However, momentary lapses in our transitional defence and too many turnovers saw Saints keep their overall lead running out 73-63 winners in the end.
