Manchester Giants Blue 62 – 61 U16 Yellow
A tough last minute nail biting loss for the U16 Yellow squad against Manchester Giants Blue away.
The first quarter started with both team exchanging some good looks and finding routes to basket. Some solid help defence saw early turnovers for the Phoenix squad which we struggled to convert on the offensive end.
Some rotation of our 8 man squad led to us pulling away an 8 point lead in the second quarter. We went to the dressing room 30-23 up.
The third quarter continued in much the same way with the Phoenix squad maintaining their slender lead.
Going into the last quarter the squad had on player injured and one fouled out. The opposition capitalised and had a run of points winning the quarter 23-15.
It was a close run game with the Giants edging out a win 62 to 61. Onwards to the next game.
