U11 Firestorm 39 – 39 U11 Wildfire
This was the second time in a matter of weeks that the two newly formed U11s teams took to the court to face each other.
Firestorm started strong with some strong rebounding and offensive play. Wildfire struggled to get the rebounds in the first and found themselves going into the 1/2 time break 28-19 down with Firestorm on top.
Both teams came out fighting and there was some great play at both ends of the court. Wildfire managed to string together a few turnovers with some great defence and pressure in the Firestorm half and began to close the gap. Wildfire showed when you play as a team, great things can happen. For the last 6 minutes of the game it was end to end with both teams piling on the pressure.
When the final whistle blew, Firestorm thought they’d won by 1 point but after a score sheet check, it finished with a 39-39 tie.
