U16 Yellow 73 – 28 Liverpool
The fourth win on the bounce for the U16 Phoenix Yellow team.
After staring off slowly in the last game, there was a marked difference to the approach this weekend.
The first quarter started fairly slowly with some easy makes being missed. At five minutes in, the team really started to warm up and went on a mini run without reply to end the first spell of play up 19-9.
The second quarter was one where the full court press was highly effective holding the visitors to a single point whilst the Phoenix team added 18 points.
We went into the changing rooms 37-10, 27 points ahead.
The Liverpool team came out with some god energy in the second half and made some good baskets. Despite working hard, the home team won the third session 16-12.
The final spell of play sealed the win with the team adding an additional 20 points to the visitors 6.
The game ended 77-28.
A much better performance in the first and second quarters of the game with active defence and lots of energy at both ends. Some more focus on finishing easy baskets will lead to more success. A great team performance this week with everyone playing their parts. 6 wins and 2 losses puts us third in the table.
