U11 Wildfire 19 – 40 Warrington Wildcats Jaguars
This weekend was always going to be a tough game as Wildfire took on top of the league Jaguars. Wildfire started well but Jaguars started to piece together some great offensive play and wildfire saw the gap widen. They pushed to the end of the half but went into half time 17-9 down.
Following the half time break, Jaguars came out fighting and Phoenix struggled to make the baskets fall. Despite the baskets not going in, they worked hard and pieced together some great passing possessions and showed great team play. They made Jaguars work hard for every basket in the second!
Some great rebounding led to a flurry of late baskets for Wildfire but the Jaguars hard work earlier in the game, proved too much for Wildfire. Well done to all the players for working hard until the final whistle and never giving up- this mentality and resilience will serve you well as the season continues. A valiant effort but it wasn’t to be this weekend.
