Phoenix started well against a confident and well-drilled Wire side, who were aiming to continue a good run of results in the league. It was competitive and close, though Wire edged it 15-18 at the break.
Phoenix worked hard in the second quarter, and it did not take long to overturn the deficit, and create a three point lead of their own, with the quarter ending 35-32.
The third quarter was tightly contested, with both teams aiming to assert their authority, though Phoenix finished slightly stronger, with the score ending 49-45.
Phoenix were much the stronger side in the fourth quarter, and having held a slight lead since the second, they quickly increased this through some excellent play and strong finishing, to put the match out of reach for the visitors.
