Stockport Falcons 84 – 59 U12
An early morning start for the U12s who travelled to Stockport to face Falcons for the second time this season. Phoenix started well and settled with a 5-0 lead until Falcons took a time out. Following the restart, Falcons came out strong and were well drilled. Phoenix struggled to get going offensively and went into the end of the first 18-5 down.
The second quarter was far more promising for Phoenix, who managed to match the Falcons virtually basket for basket. Strong offensive play and good rebounds enabled Phoenix to put points on the board. Falcons went into the break with a lead of 39-22.
Falcons started to pull away in the third but Phoenix weren’t done there, they battled hard, kept their heads high and they fought to the very end. Phoenix were able to win the final quarter 29-20, and should take great pride in their performance. Despite their best efforts, it just wasn’t enough to claw back the deficit. A valiant effort but Falcons took the win 84-59.
