Latchford Lions 34 – 24 U11 Wildfire
Wildfire went into this one having got the better of Latchford in their previous two meetings. After a close opening exchange, Latchford edged into the lead as Wildfire struggled to get points on the board and at half time the scores were 14 – 8.
Wildfire came out in the second half focused on taking more shots, and it was much better from them. A succession of quick baskets and tighter marking, saw Wildfire close the gap to just two points, making it 22-20 with 10 minutes to go.
Despite showing a real battling spirit to get back into the game, Wildfire just couldn’t get the ball to drop during the final 10. They may not have walked away with the win they wanted, but the players can take positives from their early second-half performance. Well done Wildfire.
