Bridgewater Jets Hurricanes 25 – 38 U11 Meteorites
In another thrilling basketball match, the Phoenix Meteorites and Bridgewater Jets Hurricanes battled fiercely from the get-go. The first two minutes saw both teams exchanging attacks, with Phoenix striking first but the Jets swiftly replying. As the game progressed, the Jets managed to pull ahead 6-2, only for Phoenix to level the score back at 6-6.
The intensity didn’t wane, with end-to-end action keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. After eight minutes of play, the score was deadlocked at 10-10. As the first half progressed the jets called the first timeout holding a narrow lead at 14-12.
Pushing the tempo, the Jets extended their lead slightly to 4 points, but the Meteorites clawed back again to get the scoreline level. Just before the halftime break a rapid counterattack from Phoenix saw them take a slim lead of 20-18 into the break.
The start of the second half saw Phoenix seizing their early opportunity, extending their lead to 4 points. Despite both teams’ efforts, the score remained tight as the half progresses at 29-24.
The Bridgewater Jets showcased show impressive defensive plays, but struggled to convert these opportunities and this led to Phoenix capitalising and building a 7 point advantage. Then with a tightened defense and some solid rebounding, Phoenix pulled ahead into a commanding lead heading into the final 90 seconds.
Despite a flurry of shots from both sides, neither team managed to add to the scoreline, and the game concluded with Phoenix emerging victorious at 38-25.
