Warrington Wildcats Sabres vs U13 Wizards

Warrington Wildcats Sabres 33 - 35 U13 Wizards

Warrington Wildcats Sabres 33 – 35 U13 Wizards

Phoenix Wizards took on the Wildcat Sabres in their latest clash. Wizards got off to a shaky start and took a while to settle into the game, with Wildcats taking an early lead. Following a time out and a reset, Wizards were able to pull themselves back into the game and went into the half time break with nothing to separate the teams at 12-12.

Wizards brought the game to Sabres in the second, matching them basket for basket by playing great offence, moving the ball around and focusing on sharp passing. Sabres showed their experience and used the height advantage well, taking the lead but Wizards weren’t down and out.

Great defensive pressure led to a few turnovers and Wizards were right back in it. The last minute and half brought more drama with late fouls from Sabres sending Wizards to the line for free throws. 6 seconds remained and Wizards were up by 2 but Sabres had possession from the sideline in Wizards half. Time out was called by Sabres whilst they drew up a play. Sabres brought on their biggest man to aim for, but strong defence from Wizards meant they didn’t give him space to get his shot away!

It was a nail-biting game which entertained both sets of supporters right down to the final whistle. Well done Wizards on a well-deserved 35-33 victory. ‎
