Warrington Wildcats Jaguars 33 – 43 U11 Meteorites
In a top-of-the-table clash, Cheshire Phoenix Meteorites faced the Warrington Wildcats Jaguars in a highly anticipated match.
The game began with an early exchange of points, but the flow was disrupted by enforced substitutions due to accidental injuries on the opposition’s side. Despite this, the Meteorites showcased excellent fast-paced play down the lines and solid defence, keeping the score low initially.
Coach Ian called a timeout at 13 minutes to focus on marking. Despite frequent substitutions due to a large attendance, fresh legs maintained the fast pace.
As frustration grew among the Wildcats, leading to fouls, they called a timeout with 2 minutes left in the first half, trailing 14-10.
By halftime, Meteorites led 16-12.
The second half started explosively with a great layup in the first 10 seconds, extending the lead. Strong shooting and layups saw Meteorites stretch their lead to 28-18 after 30 minutes.
A fantastic block by the Meteorites on a Wildcats layup followed by a 2-point return pushed the lead to 12.
With 1:03 remaining, Coach Ian called a timeout with Meteorites leading by 7.
Solid defence and ball control in the final minutes secured a 43-34 victory.
